i will now be changing this a little, to be able to talk about all my amazing children. i hope to be able to use this at least as some small journal, even if only for myself. scrapbooking just isn't for me, and even though i take tons of pictures and videos, there is never enough time for me to organize them, and put them all together, so i'm hoping that this will help a little.
brendan did so very well during his surgery. he is very swollen right now, which started the day after we got home. thankfully, i know someone who's daughter had the same surgery 7 months ago on the west coast. she is a nurse, and said the scariest part was how much swelling there was, and she thought her daughter's face looked like it was about to explode! well, believe it or not, those words comforted me, as i watched brendan look very much in the halloween season :) he has a hard time sitting and icing it, and honestly, after 15 minutes, the cycle repeats. his eyes are starting to get a little discolored, but still what a trooper.
several years ago, when brendan went through his first surgical proceedure with me by his side, i wrote to a friend that he was MY HERO. He'd put his arm out for blood, sit up, lay down, whatever was asked. thursday made me remember my comments from the years before. it's funny how the big things he handles so well, and the small things set him off, like telling him he has to do homework :)
